TOUR CODE SAS 043 - 7 DAYS MARANGU ROUTE

Day 1:   Nairobi - Moshi

Depart Nairobi via the border town of Namanga. Then transfer to Moshi where the afternoon is spent sorting gear and preparing for the trek. Overnight at selected hotel in Moshi.

Day 2:   Moshi - Marangu ark Gate - Mandara Hut

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and begin hiking from the Marangu Gate (5,900 ft) and hike 9 Km to Mandara hut through dense semi - tropical rain forest.Once at the Hut,you can rest ore do a side hike to Maundi Crater.Dinner and overnight tat Mandara Hut.

Day 3:   Mandara Hut -Horombo Hut

Hike to Horombo (at 12000 ft).Passing open alphine meadow where the lanscape tends to be more rugged.Excellent views of both Mawezi and Kibo peaks can be viewed.Dinner andovernight at Horombo Hut.

Day 4:   Horombo Hut - Kibo Hut

Next you set your sight on Kibo Hut at 15,520 ft.The walk takes aboutb 6-7 hours through stunning mountain vegetation.meals and overnight at the Kibo Hut.

Day 5:   Kibo Hut - Horombo Hut.

This morning you begin the final assent to the summit beggining at 2.00 a.m.At Gilmans Point (18640ft),you will watch the sunrise before continuing another hour to reach Uhuru peak at (19340 ft).Descend to Kibo and horombo for overnight.

Day 6:   Horombo Hut -Marangu Gate and transfer to Moshi.

There is alot to celebrate this evening!Overnight at selected hotel.

Day 7:  Marangu Gate - Nairobi

Depart after breakfast for Nairobi via Arusha and the border town of Namanga(or extend your stay in Tanzania with wildlife Safari.).Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening.
